Health attitudes and professionalism

professionalHealth attitude as an important part of professionalism. Your health is one of the most important things you possess.   Do not throw it away or give it up.

A professional uses standards that are of the highest standards such as top notch teachers, doctors, lawyers and bankers.  You do not have to be one of these to act professional but you need to act like them when it involves your health. What do you think about that?

If you do things half way, you get half/half results.  Do not do things half way with your health!  For example, if you have a pain in your neck, upper back, lower back or pelvis areas don’t just accept anything your Medical Doctor says about giving you medicine; this is one area where covering up the pain does not solve the problem.  If you want to act professional in your attitude you should question what seems wrong and try to replace it with something that seems right.

When you have something painful in your neck, upper back, lower back or pelvis does it sound right to just leave it alone and take chemicals such as medicine or drugs?  Or does it sound better to see someone who is an expert in that field.  When it comes to spinal issues the Doctor of Chiropractic is an expert and Professional who can handle pain in the neck, upper back, lower back, or pelvis.

Consider this attitude of professionalism in areas of your life that you do have a lot of control over, namely the foods you eat and how much physical activity you do during the week. When you half/half your lifestyle you get half way results. Why do we look to professionals for solutions? It is mostly because they have the knowledge and expertise to provide you with workable solutions. When it comes to knowledge and expertise about your lifestyle, where do you go? What professional can you look to for that knowledge and expertise? Interesting fact but during the training of a Medical Doctor they get only one hour of nutrition and no training in health and fitness. What they know on that subject is what they discovered on their own, just like all of us.

On the other hand, the Doctor of Chiropractic undergoes two years of formal study in nutrition and fitness topics. That is one professional who can guide you but in reality, isn’t it better that you become the expert in your own life on healthy eating and proper fitness? May I propose that it is YOU who should develop an interest and study in your personal pursuit of health and wellness… in your PROFESSIONAL development.  Be empowered to take change of your health and become the go-to person in your family that can give professional advice on healthy living.
