The knee is a strangely designed joint, don’t you think? In part that is why so many people suffer from knee pain caused by cartilage and/or ligament deterioration. It is mainly the inflammation these cause that is responsible for the pain; the heat, swelling and pressure, the irritation, etc.
Problem is that these conditions can’t just get fixed once and for all. So today I will share a simple but amazingly effective home care procedure anyone can do on their own. Interested?
I call it the 2 x 2 x 2 protocol because it makes it easy to remember. Place ice (real ice and preferably not the blue stuff) in a leak-proof bag large enough to cover the top and sides of the knee. Apply the ice pack on top of the knee or slightly more toward the side that hurts the most. Do it for twenty minutes each time, twice per day for two weeks. Be sure there is a thin layer of paper or cloth on the skin separating the ice from direct contact to the skin. It can’t be too thick or the cryotherapy won’t penetrate enough to be effective.
Ice 20 minutes x 2 times per day x 2 weeks (yes the whole 2 weeks).

It’s too simple you say? Yes, we tend to want complicated solutions like drugs or surgery for things because we look for a one shot deal; but in reality, common sense rules and is effective.
Now share this blog with everyone you know that complains of knee pain, especially your friends who make excuses about not joining you for a run or other exercise activity due to the knee pain. You’ll make their excuse disappear and because they resume exercising they stay slim and avoid Diabetes and live 20 healthy years longer. Be a hero! 🙂
